Dr. Marie Imbrova and Vernissage of the Exhibition "FOR THE CHRIST CHILD TO AFRICA", The K. A. Polanek Regional Museum, Husova 678, Zatec, November 27, 2014

On November 27, 2014, at the opening of the exhibition of African nativity scenes
"FOR THE CHRIST CHILD TO AFRICA", from the collection of Mrs. and Mr. Tlusty and the Regional Museum in Zatec, Dr. Marie Imbrova will approach the celebration of Christmas in Africa and will present the collection of African nativity scenes.

The spouses Tlusty's collection was built gradually from the year 1999, when they received from Dr. Marie Imbrova their first African nativity scene. The African cribs were first seen last year in the Louny museum. The exhibition will run until January 11, 2015.

Charity Auction of Dolls Made By Top Designers And Celebrities "ADOPT A DOLL AND SAVE A CHILD", The Czech Museum of Music, Karmelitska 2/4, Praha 1, November 25, 2014


This year for the first time, Dr. Marie Imbrova, as the Founder of the Tengenenge Friends Club in the Czech Republic, will take part at the Charity Auction of Dolls made by VIP for the UNICEF, which will be held on November 25, 2014.

For this occasion, she has commissioned the carving of a doll by the renowned Zimbabwean artist from Tengenenge, Mrs. Kamurai Kavhu.

The doll by the Zimbabwean artist Kamurai Kavhu,
donated to the UNICEF Charity Auction on November 25, 2014
by Dr. Marie Imbrova, was auctioned for 100 000,-- CZK,
which will be devoted to the basic vaccination of children
in the poorest regions of the world.

"The record high proceeds in the amount of 2 953 000,-- CZK
will save the life of 4 921 children
which can be vaccinated
against six deadly childhood diseases
- diphtheria, whooping cough, measles,

Dr. Marie Imbrova's visit in Kenya, November 13, 2014 - November 20, 2014


From November 13, 2014 to November 20, 2014, Dr. Marie Imbrova will be in Nairobi. The aim of her short visit is a visit to the International Charity Bazaar, handover of the Christmas presents to a local non-governmental organization, preparing of a new collection of author's jewels and import of an author's Christmas crib for Mrs. and Mr. Tlusty, who will present, for the first time, their collection of African Nativity Scenes on November 27, 2014 in Zatec.

Presentation of Dolls Made By Top Designers And Celebrities for UNICEF Charity Auction ADOPT A DOLL AND SAVE A CHILD", The Boutique Weekend Max Mara, Na Prikope 22 , Praha 1, November 11, 2014


This year for the first time, Dr. Marie Imbrova, as the Founder of the Tengenenge Friends Club in the Czech Republic, will take part at the Charity Auction of Dolls made by VIP for the UNICEF, which will be held on November 25, 2014.

Dr. Marie Imbrova has commissioned the carving of a doll by the renowned Zimbabwean artist from Tengenenge, Mrs. Kamurai Kavhu.




During the press conference, which was held on November 11 in the morning in the Boutique Weekend Max Mara, the creators presented their dolls to the media. On this occasion, Dr. Marie Imbrova said:

"Our doll came to Bohemia from Tengenenge. It has all the attributes of what is an African child's perception of a doll. It's actually a small stone girl who takes care of her younger siblings. Its author is an outstanding Zimbabwean woman sculptor. I believe that it has in itself a lot of sunshine and that it will bring a joy."

From the afternoon of the same day, all the dolls are exhibited in the Moser Shop, Na Prikope 12 (on the 1st floor), where the visitors can see them up to the auction.

Charity Auction of a Unigue Sculpture by Zimbabwe Artist Lovemore Bonjisi, The MIRO Gallery, St. Roch Church, Strahovske nadvori 1/132, Praha 1, October 29, 2014

Dr. Marie Imbrova supports by her donation of the Lovemore Bonjisi's sculpture The Narovinu Centre and will be present at the Charity Auction in the MIRO Gallery.





The Charity Auction of the Centre Narovinu,
Public Service Company, for children from Kenya
on October 29, 2014 ended perfectly.
The sculpture by Zimbabwean artist Lovemore Bonjisi,
donated by Dr. Marie Imbrova,
earned a total of CZK 212 600,--.

On April 25, 2014, Dr. Marie Imbrova will be a guest of the Elementary Art School and will speak on the topic of how children live in Africa (indended for children and school pupils from 01:30 pm) and on the topic of how African women maintain and change the traditions (intended for adults from 05:00 pm.). Both lectures will take place in the classrooms of fine art.

On Monday, April 07, 2014 at 06:00 p.m., the Vozek's Association in Kostice will organize in the local library Dr. Marie Imbrova's lecture "EMIL HOLUB AND THE VICTORIA FALLS". The event will take place on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the Emil Holub's return from his second African expedition.

The guests will learn a lot about Emil Holub, the famous explorer who spent a part of his life in the close Patek, about his African anabasis and the Victoria Falls from the telling of the African studies expert and the former Czech diplomat in Africa, Dr. Marie Imbrova.

Lecture and art workshop "With what the children play in Africa"

African afternoon will be an extraordinary event, which will enrich the accompanying programme to the exhibition Otto Placht / Gates of Perception

From the environment of South America and the Amazon rainforest we will move
to the African rainforests, deserts and savannas. African afternoon will be imaginative, instructive and creative.

Program will start a lecture of the African studies expert, Marie Imbrova, which
will approach us the world of toys from the perspective of contemporary
African children.

This will be followed by an art workshop with Lucie Kabrlova, where visitors will learn how to use recycled material for the manufacture of toys and interactive games.

During the African afternoon, visitors will be able to see moreover
collectors' interesting jewels from the Marie Imbrova's collection.

Dr. Marie Imbrova's visit in Zimbabwe, February 11, 2014 - March 06, 2014


From February 11, 2014 till March 06, 2014, Marie Imbrova will be in Zimbabwe. In addition to visiting the National Gallery and studios of local artists, her primary task is her stay in Tengenenge, securing the service of nursery and selection of the school children who will receive scholarships of VDV - Olga Havel Foundation. Together with other five volunteers she will implement sub-projects for the benefit of a local women's club.

Dr. Marie Imbrova's Lecture "IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF EMIL HOLUB IN ZAMBIA AND ZIMBABWE", The Anthropos Pavilion, Pisarecka 5, Brno, January 28, 2014

Dr. Marie Imbrova, a former CDA in Harare, will approach in her lecture, on the one hand, the places which Emil Holub visited in those two states, the traces that he left behind and, finally, the attitude of the current members of various ethnic groups captured by Holub to the documents he left about them behind.

She will also approach the scenes behind of the unveiling of the Emil Holub's bust in Livingstone and the consistent promotion of his work in various institutions in Zimbabwe, with which she cooperates. Her lecture will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 5 p.m. at the Anthropos Pavilion in Brno.
