In the last decade, the African Studies Expert and Collector of fine African art Dr. Marie Imbrova has focused on authentic African jewel, which in this century is subject to particular pressure caused by the globalization and penetration of cheap Chinese copies into the African market.

She builds her collection both from the unique pieces purchased in galleries, museums or from collectors from all over the world, every year she also prepares collections for charity events in the Dvur Kralove Zoological Garden, for the UNICEF auctions and the Christmas markets.

For jewels she goes directly to manufacturers in Kenya, Senegal, Ghana, and Zimbabwe. A long time she is collaborating with social magazines and the Czech Radio and Czech Television.

In Libochovice, she will hold her lecture at the Libochovice Municipal Library on March 16 at 06:00 p.m., and since it will be the first presentation of African jewel after her January's return from Ghana, the participants will be able to get acquainted with recycled and hand-painted glass Krobo beads. Some of them will be offered for sale.
