Zatec: The K. A. Polanek Regional Museum in Zatec invites you to the opening of the "EMIL HOLUB - THERE BEHIND THE ZAMBEZI RIVER" exhibition in the Kriz's Villa, which will take place on Thursday, September 03, from 5 p.m. The exhibition will run here until November 15.
"The exhibition from the collections and materials of Marie Imbrova will show the desire and determination of Emil Holub to penetrate the interior of the black continent, his motivation, ideas, efforts, clashes with the reality of the southern Africa at the end of the 19th century," said the exhibition curator Monika Merdova from the Regional museum. "Furthermore, it will show the methods and ways of describing the local landscape, the life of the natives, the struggle for survival, his significance for contemporary African ethnic groups and the traces, which he left in the Czech travelogue literature and also the use of his legacy at present. The promotion of his life and work in Zimbabwe and Zambia is complemented by the authentic African artifacts. "...
