November 2015

Dr. Marie Imbrova's Visit in Senegal, November 07 - November 19, 2015

In the days November 07 - November 19, 2015, PhDr. Marie Imbrova will be on a private trip in Senegal. In addition to visiting her friends, she is looking forward to the re-examination of the Dakar Museum and to the several visits of the Goree Island, where she will be searching for jewels of the Czech origin.

Dr. Marie Imbrova's Visit in the Netherlands, October 28 - November 01, 2015


From October 28 to November 01, 2015, Dr. Marie Imbrova will be with her Louny friends in Barendrecht in the Netherlands, where she has many friends. With pleasure, she will also pass through a collection of African Krobo beads of a Dutch collector and store owner.

"WOMAN AND AFRICA", organised on August 29 and 30, 2015 by the Zoological Garden in Jihlava, in the framework of the annual meeting of "FRAGMENTS OF AFRICA", under the auspices of Mrs. Pavla Gomba, Director of the Czech UNICEF, Dr. Marie Imbrova will present, on August 29, 2015, from 04:00 pm her lecture on the topic: "MY AFRICAN GIRLFRIEND - LIFE'S INSPIRATION".

"THE VIBRANT NINE 2015" Dr. Marie Imbrova will not be present in person, but on the stand of the South African Republic will be a selling collection of authentic African jewels from her collection.

On July 2015 at 04:00 pm, Dr. Marie Imbrova will attend a vernissage of the exhibition "HANDBAGS AND HATS MADE OF NATURAL MATERIALS", to which she has lent the 20 original baskets from Africa.

Dr. Marie Imbrova's Homecoming from Zimbabwe, March 31, 2015

The three-week stay of Dr. Marie Imbrova in Zimbabwe was filled with the meetings with her friends in Harare, her stay and help in Tengenege (see the report on
www.tengenenge.cz) and the final week she spent with her husband and the family of her niece in Kariba (see Photo Gallery).

She was very much looking forward to meeting with Mr. Amali Malola, oldest living sculptor in the Tengenenge community, which unfortunately due to his death on March 08, 2015 could no longer take place.


March 2015

Dr. Marie Imbrova's Visit in Zimbabwe, March 09 - 31, 2015

From March 09 till March 31, 2015 Dr. Marie Imbrova will visit Zimbabwe. In addition to her meetings and visits to artists' studios in Harare she will stay with volunteers in Tengenenge, where she will address, among other things, operational matters of the kindergarten and will equip the older children to school.

Obituary

The oldest living sculptor of the community
Mr. Amali Malola
died in Tengenenge on March 8, 2015.

His funeral took place on March 9, 2015.

May he rest in peace!
